In 1989, Susan A. Watson, M.D. founded Watson Eye Associates (WEA) in Rocky Mount after several years in private practice in Roanoke Rapids, NC. Over the years, her practice has grown considerably with support from a satisfied and growing patient population.

Dr. Watson is well credentialed. She completed her undergraduate studies at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio where she was Phi Beta Kappa. She received her Medical Degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1981. She completed her Internship in Internal Medicine at Evanston Hospital-Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.

After a three year Residency in Ophthalmology at Michael Reese Hospital-University of Chicago, she completed a Fellowship in Corneal Diseases and Surgery at Ohio State University. Dr. Watson is Board Certified in Ophthalmology.

Dr. Watson advanced her standing in medicine as she earned Fellow status in the American College of Surgeons. She is also a Consulting Associate in the Department of Ophthalmology at Duke University. She participates in many regional and national medical and ophthalmic societies.

Active in the communities she serves, Dr. Watson and her husband, Stewart, have four children, Jessica, Emily, James, and Julia.
